Rhys headed out to The Glens of Foudland to meet with John Wink at John Wink Design HQ where they discussed support for his Junior 1000 Ecosse rally championship run starting 20th August at Kames Motorsport complex. Rhys and John held a long discussion with John keen to understand Rhys’ current position and learn about what he has been doing so far in and out of the car.
During the meeting, John and Rhys discussed elements of the seasons ahead and development plans over the next few months. The car, its spec and the rules in which they are required to run and what driver development is planned.

John Commented: “I’m really excited to support Rhys as he starts his junior career in a sport I love. It is clear to see Rhys’ enthusiasm for the sport of rallying and how he is keen to know all aspects of car setup, preparation and how the car works mechanically. We will keep a keen eye on his progress and look to support him with some driver development where we can and a sponsorship package to help him along the way at his first event at Kames. Rhys Commented: “I can’t wait to get started and the additional support from John Wink Design means we can go into our first event with a clear focus for the weekend. We have a Junior 1000 Ecosse training day and the event day. This will allow me to get used to the car at stage speed and the venue. We will work on a development plan and look forward to John’s input. As a leading driver in the Scottish Rally championship, there isn’t a better driver to be getting support from.
